Your Route
So, our next feature preview of the Truckmate Pro S6400 looks at the Your Route feature. Having exhibited at many Truckfest events over the years, this has been a popular request. YourRoute enables you to preprogram a specific route into the Truckmate S6450 so it routes you the way you want to go. “What is the point of this?” you may ask. Well, if you want to travel to your destination along a certain route, you can plot the journey as if you were using a map. The benefit here is that rather than having to constantly refer to the map, you will receive clear voice instructions and visual display.

Your Route comes in particularly helpful when you have a new driver taking up a regular route for example. You might already know the route but the driver doesn’t, which saves a lot of messing around and reduces stress going into a new job.

As you use Your Route on the Truckmate Pro S6400, you will still receive warnings for low bridges and other restrictions as well as the option of having speed camera alerts as you drive. Points of interest will still be available, all you’re doing is telling Truckmate where exactly you want to go.

With the pending arrival of the NEW Snooper Truckmate Pro S6400, we thought we’d preview a few of the features that you can expect to find on the device in detail. Today, we’re going to talk you through lane guidance and junction view.

Lane Guidance
Most modern day sat nav systems come with a Lane Guidance feature aimed at visually directing you into the correct lane for an upcoming junction or roundabout. The NEW Snooper Truckmate Pro 6400 is no different. As you approach a major junction, roundabout or motorway exit, the left hand side of the screen will show you a clear diagram of the number of lanes ahead of you. Bold white arrows direct you into the lane you need to be in in order to take your exit safely. Snooper‘s Lane Guidance offers peace of mind when travelling in the UK but also on the continent when you may not be as familiar with road markings.

Junction View
Truckmate S6400 also features something called Junction View. First seen on the S7000 and then on the S5000 units, as you approach a motorway junction, the screen will change from the regular map view, to give an accurate representation of the road ahead, with gantry signs as if you were looking out of your windscreen. Again, bold white arrows highlight which lane and sign you need to head for with plenty of notice meaning less stress approaching your turning and more accurate routing from Truckmate.

Snooper, manufacturers of the Truckmate range have announced that the latest edition to the market leading HGV sat navs will be called the Snooper Truckmate Pro S6400. The Truckmate Pro S6400 will feature the latest technology including high sensitivity GPS receiver, 7″ touch-screen display with preloaded new and improved mapping.

“What is the difference between the Truckmate Pro 6400 and the popular S7000 Truckmate Pro?” I hear you ask. Well, not much but we have found that a lot of Truck Drivers already have TV’s in their cabs so never really benefit from the integrated Freeview TV on the S7000. Truckmate Pro S6450 comes WITHOUT the TV and as a result is cheaper. Plus the fact that the S6450 is brand new hardware with an improved touch screen, we think that this will sell as well as the popular S6000 Truckmate Lite did before it was discontinued last year.
