Typo-Error in Sat Nav Sends Swedish Couple to the Wrong End of Italy

Sat Nav Sends Couple to Wrong End of Italy

Published: 29th July 2009 | Author: Satellite Nvaigation

This error apparently occurred because they happened to have misspelt the name in the car's GPS system. Instead of Capri, they entered Carpi. The unit then sent then to the northern end of Italy about 400 miles off Capri. The mistake was said to be realised only when they went to the nearest tourist office to enquire about the directions for Capri's famous Blue Grotto.

Although the couple was reported to be surprised, they were not angry. As per sources, they got back to the car and resumed their journey to Capri as soon as the confusion was cleared.
