The number of jams that HD Traffic 3.0 detects on secondary roads has increased by 75% in France and 40% in the Netherlands and the UK. In Switzerland, there is a 200% increase on coverage on secondary roads. The accuracy of the info - when it starts and ends - has increased, too.
The improvements are thanks to a community of users that submit their tracks to the service. It can self-improve by detecting patterns of traffic jams and predicting them for the future. The new service is available to anyone who subscribes to TomTom's LIVE services.
