You are able to update the speed limits, which will change over time, through your PC for a fee of £10 per year.
NEW: Junction View
As you approach your turn off on the motorway it can sometimes be difficult to know exactly where you’re going. Snooper Junction View will display the actual road sign you need to follow when you make your exit.
MySpeed: The NEW S5000 Ventura Pro now incorporates Snooper’s MySpeed information. MySpeed will alert you to the current speed limit across the UK and into Europe thanks to up to date information from Navteq. The unit comes with MySpeed pre-installed and if you want to update this information, there is a £10 per year charge.
Your Route: Snooper S5000 now lets you predetermine the route you want to take so in effect you are allowed to tell Snooper the way you want to go. From here, you can build up a list of tailored routes quickly and easily.
POI Corridor Search: Most sat nav systems will have points of interest (POI) in their menu but Snooper’s POI Corridor search goes one step further. If you are on a journey and you decide that you need to stop for a rest or something to eat, Corridor Search lets you search for your chosen POI but all within 1mile of your current route so you never stray too far from your path.
Dedicated Caravan / Motorhome routing: Type your vehicle details into the memory and S5000 will calculate your route based only on roads suitable for your vehicle. Avoiding narrow lanes and other restrictions, Ventura knows where you can and can’t go.
Car routing: Of course, there is a car setting on the S5000 which allows you to use it as a regular in-car GPS. The difference here is that Snooper sill route you the most efficient way as you are now free to travel down narrow lanes and over weight restrictions etc.
Speed Camera Detection: Snooper are most famed for their excellent camera detection software and this is available on your S5000. Choose from three subscription methods and you will have unlimited access to fixed and mobile speed camera updates through your PC;
• Monthly @ £2.99
• Quarterly @ £7.99
• Annually @ £29.99
All in all, the Snooper S5000 Ventura Pro is a great piece of kit and sits in the Ventura range nicely. The screen isn’t as bulky as the 7” S6000 or S7000 so will sit neatly in most road cars - ideal for towing a caravan. Having said that, the 5” display is big enough to read even when sat further away on the dash in a motorhome.
