TomTom have long led the market when it comes to in-car satellite navigation, but what about the motorcycle navigation market? The answer is, if you are a motorcycle rider, your sat nav options are fairly limited. There is the Garmin Zumo range which proves expensive and then you have the TomTom Rider range. Newly re-released, the TomTom Rider motorcycle navigation now comes in three versions;
TomTom Urban GB
TomTom Urban European
TomTom Professional European
Simplified Menu: The main menu has just two buttons ‘Navigate to’ and ‘Browse map’ so that you can be on your way without trawling through a labyrinth of menus.
Glove-friendly Touch-Screen: A new and improved touch-screen makes for ease of use, even with protective biking gloves on. All in all, the new TomTom Rider touch screen makes for hassle free navigation.
Advanced Lane Guidance: As with the TomTom in-car navigation devices, the TomTom Rider clearly shows you which lane to take at junctions so you don’t miss your turning. On the more difficult intersections, you will even receive a realistic 3D representation of the junction for ultimate clarity!
IQ Routes technology: TomTom’s legendary IQ routes is the only system to use actual speed data collected from MILLIONS of TomTom users to calculate the fastest route at any point in time. You can actually be sent down a route, which takes into account rush hour, traffic lights, zebra crossings, school exits or even shopping crowds. IQ really is as smart as that!
Waterproof: No motorbike sat nav designed for the UK would be worth buying unless it was waterproof unfortunately! The TomTom Rider is IPX7 approved so it will survive the heaviest British Summertime downpour and still guide you to your destination!
Compatibility: TomTom Rider motorcycle sat nav is also compatible with the latest, leading Bluetooth enabled helmets so you can hear as well as see where you’re going.
